We created a page in Live Text containing text scrolling up to be used as credits at the end of a movie. When played in Live Text, the text moves perfectly and smoothly. We then exported to avi PAL. The problem starts when we import this text into Speed Edit 2 (PAL format also used). When played, the text appears very jittery and flickers when moving up the screen, making it very hard to read and very unattractive.

Both Live Text and SpeedEdit are installed on a dedicated PC.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

sounds like an issue with interlacing.
there are a few things that might help,
try turning on super sampling (control tree, layer properties > layer settings > image super-sampling), not sure if this does anything for cgs tho.
try adding a mild blur to the cg, a 1 or 2 should be fine.
try putting a defielding filter on it before you render.
try playing with the fielding setting on the cg, setting it to progressive might help.
changing the speed of the scroll or the size or color of the text might help as well.
hope some of that helps, dealing with interlacing can be a real pain, but its unfortunately a necessary thing when dealing with sd video.
