Hi,
Will Newtek be adding GPU support to help with AVCHD playback? The new Adobe Premier CS5 is using the Nivida GPU to offload the stress on the CPU.
The name of our NLE is Speed Edit...If we need to re-render a clip to another format for smoother playback during editing that is not efficient.
I plan to get the Sony NX5U shortly and I would hate to get bogged down with transcoding.
Regards
Rich

I am actually looking at building a new editing computer and my plan is to put that $2k Nvidia card in it... my hope is that SE 2.1 will support it too... but I also own Premier CS4 Master Collection so I will be upgrading to CS5 when it is released

Hi Brett,

How is it going in LV these days?
Hey I would suggest holding off the $2k until after the CS5 launch.

Nvidia just released their Fermi system...

And there will be huge changes within the next few months.

Also note that most of the speed improvements will work with ANY CUDA based card...so the 285 and the new 400 series will work great...at 1/4 the cost...

Cheers,
