blood cell tutorial

Has anyone done the blood cell tutorial on this website successfully. The reason I ask is that I am trying it and I have restarted several times and mine just does not come out like the example. Everything is fine till I get to the Layout portion. When I render it in Viper. I looks just like the poly version. Not smooth and the in the render the texture looks wacked. I swear I am doing everything word for word and it is not coming out right. I was thinking maybe there is a step missing or something. If anyone has had success with it please let me know. Thanks

I think I figured it out. There is a step where it asks you to press "q" and name your surface. There is a check box at the bottom labelled smoothing. I checked that and now it seems to be working. It does not say to do that in the tutorial. I could be wrong but..... If ya'll run across someone that has the same trouble I had you can tell them to check the smoothing button.
