Just wondering if there was a way that I could remove the surface names in the surface editor. I can't seem to find where I can remove the texture maps that I no longer have a use for. Couldn't find the answer in the manual, the answer is probably a simple one that I'm just not seeing.
Thanks in advance.

You can rename the surfaces in the surface editor but you can't delete a surface there.
•Open your object in Modeler.
•Switch to Polygon mode (at the bottom of screen)
•Select the polygons of the surface you want to "delete" (you can do this by lassoing them, or press w to open the Polygon Statistics window where you can also select a surface)
•Hit q to open the surface dialog box
•In this box there is a drop down menu where all the surface names are listed. Select one of the other existing surface names
•Save your object

What about WTM maps, is there a simular way to eliminate the maps I'm not using down in the lower right map listings? Thanks for the help beam!

Hey, you're really getting into Lightwave in a big way if you're a newbie and already using weightmaps! ;)
In Modeler, select the weight map you want to delete (down the bottom in the WTM section).
Then go to the Map tab (top of screen) and in the General section there's a button that says Delete Map.
