Hi there

Does anyone know how you would connect the Tally Outputs on a Tricaster studio to a JVC RM-P210U Camera Control Unit?

According to the manual, the CCU unit uses 'Contact Supply' and has 3 terminals on the back - C (Common), PVW (Preview) and PGM (Programme) Terminal.

The cameras already have tally lights on the studio viewfinder, so we just need a way of linking the Tricaster output to the CCU input.

Many thanks

I have a controller that will make the tally lights on a JVC RM-210U CCU work from a Tricaster - Studio -Broadcast -TCXD300

You want a controller with pigtail leads.

My controllers are custom built.

Do I not just need a cable that goes in the Tally socket on the Tricaster to a cable to the PGM (Programme) terminal on the back of the CCU?

No

the tallyport on the tricaster has voltage coming out of it.

The terminal on the CCU should be set to a open/ close circuit.

If you jump (touch a wire) from PGM to the C terminal on the Tally port on the back of the JVC, the tally should go on.

you need more than a wire from one to the other.
