After months of working properly, my Hub and communication between Lightwave and Modeler has stopped working properly. The Button with F12 no longer shows up in the Lightwave interface, and it is no longer an option in the upper right part of Modeler. I've tried deleting the configs and turning of my MacAfee Firewall, all to no avail.

I'd like to avoid re-installing LW if thats possible.

Help!

Problem solved: removing MacAfee Virus Scan and Firewall software eliminated the problem. Simple disabling it was not enough; it had to be completely gone for LW's apps and Hub to work right.

Anybody have thoughts about MacAfee's competition, such as Norton?(I heard to stay away form Norton, but obviously I need to consider something else)

Thanks!

I run NAV and zonealarm and have no problems with the Hub or keyboard shortcuts.

I had the same problem and wound up doing a restore to an earlier point in the day. I later figured out this was what did it, I usually turn off McAfee stuff unless I'm online anyway, so sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't (so I thought).

The solution is to go into the firewall and under tasks select "Control internet programs" and make sure modeler, layout, and the hub are all set to "Allow this program to have full unfiltered access to the internet"

It drove me nuts watching the modeler button display and then hide when Layout init'd!

Norton® Antivirus will NOT interrupt LighWave in anyway,
ONLY Norton® Personal Firewall will cause problems with LighWave to communicate through the Hub, but I heard that u can fix this by allowing certain ports to be open as describe by Adrian Lopez (http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5380&highlight=norton).

delete cfg file
restart lw, reload plugin
restart modeler
close lw, close modeler, than you may have a working hub.
sometimes hub cfg and lw file may be corrupted, and hub not work fine.

Thanks for the recommendations. There is probably a way to make MacAfee do the same thing. Maybe I can give the Hub permissions under MacAfee.

Gabba-Gabba, we thank you!
