Has anyone tried this and what was your success or bumps in the road. Did you use front hookups or back hookups on Tricaster for sending video thru firewire to dvd burner. I have Tricaster Pro and Sony VDR-VC20 for burning, just looking to get better quaality video to dvd burner.. Thanks:help:

You talking realtime video using your VDR-VC20? If so, I do not think you can output the TriCaster video out via firewire. Even if you could, the S-Video would be a better quality than the firewire.

On that particular DVD burner, you may only use S-Video or composite with the Tricaster.

But just as a FYI, even if you could use the firewire as a realtime video out, the S-Video would give the better signal. Firewire out would mean DV video which is compressed. Not bad but S-Video would produce a higher quality.

The other day I needed to get a few recorded segments from the tricaster to final cut pro. I went to the editing tab, imported the few clips, plugged in my firestore and output the files in real time. Imported the files into final cut, it looked good, and was a simple process. The tricaster recognized the firestore as a panasonic deck.

I apologize for not being in front of the tricaster while I am responding.
I believe I chose output to tape, after I was finished with the edit, and there was a pull-down menu which was populated with the firestore. I then hit the play button on the tricaster, and the firestore began recording automatically.
