Hi,

I'm having some problems with ScreamerNet II on my Vista PC (windows Vista 32bit) and hopefully someone here can help out. I'm pretty sure it is a permissions problem but not entirely sure.

The nodes load the scene and plug-ins etc. without trouble but when you look at the nodes when they render, they render individually - so node 1 renders and all the other nodes wait until that frame is rendered before it sends the next frame to the next node. Also the frames aren't saving!

The strange thing is that when I complete the same setup but make my laptop the server (windows XP 32bit) rather than my PC the scenes render fine. I really don't want to use my laptop as the server as it

I think I'm getting Windows 7 64bit put onto my PC in the next week or so but I have a feeling that I may still get the same problem when the new OS goes on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Put UAC in serach window (start > search) and put slider to the lowest. That will sort out all permissions issues that you might have.

Hi Soth,

Thanks ever so much for the prompt reply, I'm still having a problem with the frames saving though.

All the frames are now getting sent to the nodes but nothing is saving. UAC is switched off and the permissions for the shared folder on the server are set as: Admin: owner, Everyone: co-owner. Both have 'full control' ticked in the check box.

Do you have anymore ideas on what could be the problem?

Thanks for your help so far.

Hi Soth,

Thanks again for your help - I've now got it working!

I tried loads of different methods of fixing the saving problem, I'm not entirely sure what I did to get it working in the end. I do however think it was something just as simple as change the directories in the paths option. :bangwall:
