Pen & pencil

Here's a couple quick objects I created to test out some texturing. I'm a newbie so, still learning, but please let me know what you think.

I really like the pencil although I might have made the eraser pink. You just don't see the green erasers too much. The bite marks and scratches on the pencil look really nice but I'm not sure if they should be on the exposed wood near the graphite tip. Not many people bite that part of the pencil. It generally is a little smoother there from the shaving action of the sharpener.

The pen is nice but may look a little too perfect, thus CG.

Overall, nice.

One of us has weird pencils :) most of mine have green erasers (now I know why they were on sale). Actually the "holes" on the wood tip are intentional and different from the teeth marks (more dense). The pencil I modeled has them no matter how carefully I sharpen it.

How would you suggest I mess up the pen. I've seen references I think suggesting procedurals on the specular? Thoughts...
