Hub does not launch automatically?

Hi
I just installed Lightwave 7.5, and when I launch modeler, the hub will not execute automatically.
The hub works fine when I manually launch the hub, modeler and layout icons from the program/support file and then all works fine switching back and forth between modeler and layout.
But it sure would be nice to find out how to configure Lightwave
so that the hub launches automatically when I execute modeler or layout.

(Operating system is Windows 2000 Professional)

it should launch automatically!

check the shortcut properties on the icons for Layout and Modeler.

in the box that says target, which holds the path to lightwave, something like this:

C:\LightWave\Programs\lightwav.exe -0

if you see a -0 in there remove it, that tells lightwave not to run the hub.

check ur LWHUB.CFG file which should be located in : "C:\Documents and Settings\user\"
open the file with NOTEPAD and make sure u set the path to Modeler.exe and Lightwav.exe where u see ProcessName LWLayout/LWModeler.
It should look something like this:
ProcessName LWLayout "C:\LightWave\Programs\LightWav.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\user" "C:\Documents and Settings\user
ProcessName LWModeler "C:\LightWave\Programs\Modeler.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\user" "C:\Documents and Settings\user

I checked out the shortcut properties and unfortunatley there was not a
-0 at the end of the target. (too bad).

I checked the LWHUB.CFG FILE and this is what it read before I modified it

There was not a file called specifically called "user", there were other files called "winnt users" ?? The ProcessName for LWLayout was
not there at all?

so I created the missing file called "user" and code for ProcessName for LWLayout

This is what I did after

"user" should be replaces with ur computer user name,
in this case yours is C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\, in my machine is "C:\Documents and Settings\David\"
it varies.

so try putting the following:

FileRequesterServer $Default

TimeOptionsIndex 0
SaveClientIndex 0
ProcessName LWLayout "C:\Program Files\LightWave_3D_7.5\Programs\LightWav.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator" C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator
ProcessName LWModeler "C:\Program Files\LightWave_3D_7.5\Programs\Modeler.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator" C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator
AppConfig FrameSliderLabel 0

IMPORTANT: Make sure u DON'T have modeler.exe, lightwav.exe and the hub.exe all running when u modified the "LWHUB.CFG " file.

If that doesn't work than delete the "LWHUB.CFG " file, then manually open the HUB.EXE, MODELER.EXE AND LIGHTWAVE.EXE for a minute then exit.
NOTE 2 CLOSE THE HUB: right click the hub icon from ur system-tray and select exit.

i had the same problem, but the hub when launched manualy would not talk to lightwave modules, ah i had just applied microsoft bug patches, uninstalled 7.5c update reinstalled all ok.
it looks like the lates patch may be a problem, system
w2ksp4 1g ram dual mointor setup.
