Just purchased Lightwave. I'm looking for suggestions for modeling a simplified dna molecule. It should look like a spiral ladder. I'd like to make the "rails" of the ladder wide and thin, like a ribbon. The "rungs" can be simple cylinders. Is there a better way than applying the extrude tool to the helix primitive to make the ribbon shape?
Thanks,
Matt

These might not be exactly what your looking for, but they are in the same category:

also

go to Lscript, then PDB reader

otherwhise you could doa rail extrude on a spline, or create a tube, subpatch it, then us the bend and/or spiral modifiers

lathe 2 disks with an offset will create the helix. You can set the start angle to 0 and the end to 3600 to create 10 loops. The "rungs" can be made by cloning with a rotation.
