Hi, I do not understand what SpeedEDIT2 is doing "internally" to our color, but when comparing PREMIERE PRO with SpeedEDIT2 using a lossless 1920 x 1080 AVI of Lightwave animations output via the BM Intensity Pro HDMI output, the color is superior using Premiere Pro. SpeedEDIT2 clearly degrades the color quality.

I understand that a final output, such as broadcast or Blu ray disc will also crush the color, but I WANT maximum quality coming out of SpeedEDIT2 in my PROFESSIONAL animation and video post production studio and I do not think I am getting it. Darn it! Am I missing something?

Is there a switch in SpeedEDIT2 that allows maximum lossless color quality out of SpeedEDIT2 so I can have totally lossless frame factory that looks as good as PREMIERE PRO while post producing in front of my clients?

Thank you....and yes I love SpeedEDIT2, it is so functional, but please give me a high-end solution for HDMI live output.

Hi LAD3D,

First can you give us the settings and preferences you are using with SE? and with Premiere Pro?

What LW format are you saving to?

Note that PPro can work with 10 bit color space...and SE at this time is only 8 bit...but there are some settings that can dramatically improve its accuracy.
but with a CPU hit.

Cheers,

Hi, the Lightwave and/or other graphics are all rendered at or above 1920 x 1080 and saved as TGA or PNG files. They are then composited in After Effects with a live HDMI preview through the Intensity Pro 1080i on a Samsung LCD 1080P HDTV. The final output, in this case, is a lossless 1920 x 1080 30FPS AVI file that is then played in realtime off a 6 disk RAID 5 subsystem.

This same file looks better when played from a Premiere Pro project that I have to figure out what are the settings...I think it is a project setting that came with the BMD Intensity Pro.

What are the best settings I can use in SpeedEDIT2 for output quality of lossless 1920 x 1080 fip? For this test I am using NTSC 1080i 30.

Thank you for your help.
