Installed SE 2.0 on Windows XP Pro, Dual quad processors. Upon finish, this error box immediately appears. The following has been tried unsuccessfully:

1. Save MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) to desktop
2. Uninstall SpeedEDIT2
3. Install MS Visual C++ 2008 package downloaded from Step 1
4. Reinstall SpeedEDIT2. Unchecked "Prerequisites" and install the program
5. Boot up SpeedEDIT2.....

....and immediately get the same "SpeedEDIT.exe Application Error" box.

Anyone overcome this? VT4.5, SpeedEDIT 1.5, Adobe CS3 Premium Suite all on the same SuperMicro system continue to execute OK.

Is this the same error you were getting before when you emailed in?

I had the same results using the same steps. Updated .Net from 1.0 to current version and that solved my problem. I hope this helps.

I think you have the same problem as a guy in the general posts section, the answer to get SpeedEDIT to install correctly is to remove Flash 10 from :2guns:Adobe.

Interesting ... wonder if you can just kill it in the Task Mgr. while installing SE2, rather than removing it.

Updated all MS Windows Critical Updates, installed new larger C:drive cloned as last year as a backup. Started installation of SE 2.0 from the beginning, full, and it perfectly installed. Logged on and obtained registration key, etc. Finally, good news. :jam:
