hello
how can i get Lightwave to only output tris, i have set in the general options : polygons : triangles, but it still does not work: if i build a box it will output as tris then i get rid of faces on this box to have a plane and start building but if i do a extender on this plane i get a quad!
wth?

looks like triple is a solution,
anyone know the diffrence between : fast triple fan and fast triple traverse ?
cheers

Why not just use Shift+t? (unless that's either fast triple or fast triple traverse :))

Shift-t is still Triangulate unless I missed something.
The Polygons setting in modeler General Options is not to determine whether all polys are created as quads or triangles. What it is for is to set the type of operation used when using certain operations on a mesh. A good example is when you freeze a Sub-d object with CTRL+d
If you want to do that, probably the best thing is to use the Make Triangle Fan command to create your polygon, although it is usually just as quick to just make a poly & triangulate it with Shift-t. I prefer to use point selection & Split (ctrl-l) to make sure edges flow in the direction I need them to.
Fast Triple Traverse tool triples polygons, with new polygons being created along the outside edge, moving inward.
Fast Triple Fan, triangulates by picking one point and radiating out to surrounding points.
Try each one on the end of a cylinder or a disc - it will become clear.
If you want to create a centre pole with tris radiating out, use the Spikey tool with no parameter.
You might benefit from a quick read of the Modeler manual because it is all explained in there.
