After researching and reading the camera & codec threads here that said that our VT5.2d system should play mp4 files off of a HM100U, I contacted JVC and had a camera sent to me for evaluation. Unfortunately, our system can not play the files. The video stutters and there is no audio. The only way to make the files play on the time line is to change the file extension to avi. Video and audio play fine EXCEPT for artifacts that look like fielding errors on horizontal video elements. I've switched btween progressive and nterlaced files with no difference in the atifacts. So my problem is two fold. Is there any way to get around thye problem of changing file extensions without doing third party file conversions AND what is up with the artifacts? See attached pics.
