A LW newbie here.
I've been tasked with taking an engineer's Solidworks projects and producing 3D animations.
I'm a videographer by trade with a passing familiarity with LW. I have 9.5 ready to install.
I have done research on the conversion of Solidworks objects to LW... that does not seem to be a big issue, but I am completely daunted at the prospect of importing complete Solidworks projects, ie; a complete mechanical device with hundreds of individual parts.
Am I better off starting from scratch with my LW education and learn the very basics? I don't need modeling expertise, as those components will come in the form of the converted Solidworks objects..... I just need to animate them.
I'm in way over my head, but I have to sort through things as quickly as possible.
Any suggestions, including best courseware, etc... would be very appreciated. Be gentle!
