hi! this is my first attempt at character work and i have no clue how to animate... :(
any help would be appreciated.

any ideas to rig, i have followed instructions but i cant seem to make them work :(

Hey, I can tell by your modelling you know where all the key joints are, So i found you some tutorials to get some basic understanding:

The last ones not in english, but the pictures explain it all, youll need that for all the little pistons you put in.
First put bones at those key joints (I see a hip at the top, a knee, and ankle, the Ball of the foot is pretty big there) then youll need to setup weightmaps, apply 100% to, say, the thigh.... plate, and set its bone with that weight map. The object will need to divide pretty cleanly, and youll have to guess and test about limits for IK, but im guessing he wont move much...
