sluggish property boxes

I notice that when I switch between property boxes, close a property box, or open one up when I didn't have it open before, it takes about a second.

This isn't really a huge problem but it is annoying and slows me down. I do have another process in the background that is rendering however that is set to "low" priority in task manager. I even closed it down and tested and it did the same thing.

Does anybody have any idea what is going on here or do I have to just accept it?

Running nview display manger with a Nvidia card?
Try turning it off.
At least that fixes slo menus in Tedit.

I only have one monitor so no. The desktop manager is also off.

More details about my system:
Dual 2.8GHz Xeon, 1GB RAM, built-in audio, QuadroFX1000

I have a feeling that it is the fact that I have other apps that have OpenGL interfaces running in the background. Right after a re-start everything is usually snappy.
