point and wireframe color

The default color of a point is white and when selected yellow. How do I change the point and wireframe color. I am using a black and white photograph as a reference and I can't see the points I am laying down. please help

Sadly, it's not possible. Instead change the brightness/contrast of the backdrop or for more control modify the image using the Image Editor.
