With NAB approaching, I wonder whether a XDtricaster with six inputs might be on the horizon? I know the question has been asked before, but now that the XD300 is being shipped I thought we could get some idea when the "Broadcast" XD?00 might be introduced. I've seen enough interest to know it would be a good seller. I currently use a TCB for my location work and, after looking at the XD300, I'm not sure I could get enough out of it to make it a worthwhile purchase for me at this time.

First, I need the ability to run more than three cameras. I know of some work arounds for this but, secondly, I need the preview output, such as my Broadcast has, that allows me to have a selectable output to send elsewhere such as to a slo-mo recorder, other than the built in DDRs. I also need that preview output to be feed-selectable from either the preview bus or the efx bus. These are just the first things I noticed that would severely hamper my production style that I've gotten used to from my Tricaster Broadcast.

I'm speaking currently to a dealer who is ready to allow me to send in my TCB and $5995 for an XD300. I'd almost do it because I also have a need in studio for the HD chromakey and sets but my location work would shurely suffer.

My suggestion would be to take advantage of the incredible upgrade offer.
Keep the Broadcast, and get the XD300 for just $7,995. Then you have the best of both worlds.
That's what we just did to cover all bases. ;)

When NewTek releases the XD600, or whatever, they are always good about letting you move up without the depreciation of typical broadcast gear. Or even New Cars. :)

Start building your HD clientel now, upgrade later!

Unfortunately, I purchased my TCB in November of 2008, just 2 months too early to fall into the January 2009 requirement to be able to get the $7995, or believe me, I'd have to do that deal.

Yes.

Unfortunately, that could be NAB 2010, 2011, 2012... you get the picture.

Ted is right, the 8 grand keep both option is perfect. I was an early adopter as well. Maybe I should have gotten by with the TriCaster PRO longer and bought my BROADCAST later? Hindsight is 20/20.
