I have a Tricaster Broadcast.
For some reason windows media player will not
play any form of MPEG whether it was made with the tricaster or not. Created some with Vegas on another computer and imported to the Tricaster machine and the Tricaster plays them fine but Windows Media will not.
Nor will ON2 Flix flash encoder work with them.
Could the codec's be in the wrong place???

Sounds like you do not have an MPEG2 decoder installed.

Why didn't you include a link to the codec?
I just went all over the site and I can't find it.....

Because I don't want to officially recommend one. A simple web search turns up many options.
I too have been struggling with how to play Newtek Tricaster TCXD300 mpeg2 videos with my windows 7 media player. I can play most any mpeg2 video already, just not the standard Tricaster produced video clips.
I have installed the tricaster utilities. I even tried downloading some web searched codec's which I have to remove with my restore point due to corruption from that googy site.
Isn't there some way to play these videos without converting them to another format?

I would recommend http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm for a codec pack, or http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ for a standalone player that will play anything you throw at it.
