Hey Wes, can you confirm this is the full version? As in 395$ per year after to do the subscription. I have some friend I was telling about this deal, and when they called eyeon, eyeon said that the per year subscription for this deal was 995$ which makes it more like the a la carte deal, which you can get for 1495 at anytime. Anyway, it seems like there is some confusion on this point.

I have fusion and love it, just trying to see what this deal is for some friends

thanks
Chris

From what I understand it is the same as buying it for 4995, but 995. Subscription fees are what they advertise, 395.

So I just forwarded an email my friends got from eyeon, to the fusiondeal email you have. in that email, eyeon says it's 995 for the subscription.

hopefully it's a misunderstanding, please clarify,

thanks
Chris

How? So subscription is more expansive with the deal?

Well, it was for January only and for customers of live training only, apparently.

A staggering discount, if so - it puts me off buying into it when I see stuff like this.

Like the Red Giant sale at Christmas, mere weeks after I bought a ton of AE plugins, they decide to slash over half off of their prices of everything for a single day - far from marketing and reward for blah blah whatever, it is actually quite insulting.

Just lower the prices, or keep them at whatever, and keep them stabilised so we all know where we are - you rarely see other industries pulling this stunt.

Yeah, I know whine, whine ..... but a $4,000 discount??

Julian.

This was no stunt, this was a lot of hard work by eyeon and kurv studios to bring the LW community a great deal.

I guess no good deed truly goes unpunished.

The deal got extended to Feb 15th per my begging request.

You see eyeon did not want to GIVE away copies fo Fusion... but they really favor the LW community, they have since the DFX+ deal days when they saw how great and nice we were to them. They did this deal as a way to say... thanks and we appreciate you guys.

If you took time to look, this 'deal' was not on the eyeon site anywhere, it was only published by kurv studios.

These comments really are unnecessary.

Well, my apologies as you feel offended, and also for using the word 'stunt'. But I think generically you should see it from the user end as well, which I suspect you do. These sudden massive discount sales, however generous and well motivated, can be very galling to some.

In the instance cited, the Red Giant sale affected me - had I known, I could easily have waited, and saved $800 ..... in fact no matter what, I would have waited for that kind of saving. Not your problem of course.

So, in software, it happens so it seems - I'm well used to it after so many years.

No disrespect to your hard work, but I am a member of the 'LW community', with two licenses of LW, and I am a Kurv customer - we have a longish shelf-full of your LW training on DVD.

Your offer is clearly not galling (unless you happen to buy Fusion in December and qualify, but then on the point of the subscription, there's someone posted on Spinquad five days ago, saying he had a reply from Eyeon confirming that the annual subscription on this deal IS $995. Now you say not, but Eyeon say yes apparently???

I only come here, don't go to Spinquad that often, only look at Kurv's website when I need some training, and yet here we have what I would have to reckon is the offer of the century! Hurrah!! $4,000 off for the LW community!!! Seriously, that's fabulous. But as a LW community member and Kurv customer, I don't think I've received an email about this ..... or have I?

I did misunderstand the live training subscription thing - I see that is for a competition.

But then you're not exactly shouting about it are you? I just went over to Kurv, but can't find anything about it, certainly no link off the homepage, and nothing on the 'Shop Now' page. And if there's an extension to 15th Feb, shouldn't it be obvious, on your website?

But, hey, I'm sorry if you are offended by my comments.

Julian.

Well if you bought fusion just before the deal, personally I would call and 'ask' if all or a portion of the difference could be applied to future subscriptions. At least ask...

As for the subscription fee, I never negotiated that rate, I posted what I thought it was but never committed them into a fee... I simply negotiated the discount on Fusion.

Personally since your saving 4K, I think the debate on the subscription fee is quite unappreciative. I have already talked about this... no need to kick the horse.

As far as information on our site... yes you missed it, we sent out emails, press releases and over 100,000 received them I know because of the stats on our pages :P, sorry you missed it.

Why is the extension not posted... Joanne asked me to not make it to public.

I am not offended at all, your opinion is just that... and I respect it. I just personally dont get the disrespect of a company that is just trying to do a good deed and Joanne's purpose in this was seeing the strength of the LW community, to try to help us, especially in this tough economic time. I persoanlly thought it was an amazing deal.

Just my opinion :)

Well, you're not saving $4000, though — you're saving $500. Still a good deal, mind you, and I'm not at all upset about this. But don't you think it's understandable that people are upset if you say they can save $4k, when really, they save 1/8th as much?

The fact that this is the 'a la carte' pricing with a 33 % discount makes it a good deal, rather than the amazing deal it used to be.

But the thing that probably upsets people is the fact that you were untruthful. Not intentionally, of course. I see no reason for why you would want to trick people here and I don't see what you could possibly stand to gain by doing so. However, that does not change the fact that this was not a $4k discount. Would you like to see a copy of my receipt as evidence? :)

I prefer "mistaken" to "untruthful". "Untruthful" makes it seem deliberately misleading.

No problem :)

Actually, it is a good offer. And clearly yes, I did miss all the publicity.

Never mind.

Julian.

Funny, I always thought "misleading" usually implied it was deliberate. :P
