Hi.
Finnaly my first post here, after 5 month of Max to LW transition (ligthwave is so addictive).

So here comes my litle problem. I would like to use "Image World" for lighting my scene with a HDRI probe, but i don't want the prob to be rendered. I found this plug in really usefull with global illumination but i don't like the look of my self made prob in the background.
Anyone know how to exclude this plugin from the render and still use it for illumination purposes?

Thanks in advance and please don't laugh at my "bad" english :D

on the objects/item properties/rendering tab there is an option called unseen by camera. Should do the trick.

Yep, tried allready. But i can't choose "Image World" because it's considered as a plugin and not an object.

No luck so far.

Hi JeF,
Use a background image (it can be as little as a 16x16 white image or so). It will overwrite the image probe.
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks Lightwolf!
Good idea, i have to try asap.
It will keep the luminous properties of the probe!?

Yes, BG images don't reflect, refract or whatever... It won't influence your final image at all (except for non-raytraced transparencies that is).
Think of it as a BG applied in compositing.
Cheers,
Mike
