When I render a project using SpeedHQ I cannot import it into QuickTime Pro. Is there any way to get QT Pro to recognize the SpeedHQ files?
Are you rendering the SpeedEDIT timeline to a QT file type first?
We have QT Pro installed on all our SE systems and regularly render from the SE timeline to a QT file.
We sometimes take that QT file into QT Pro to make a specific QT file i.e. really small to e-mail the video to a client.
If you have QT Pro on your computer you should have several QT Render options in the render panel including H264.
Is that what you were asking?

I'm talking about being able to render an AVI file using SpeedHQ and then importing that file into QT Pro. I've tried rendering a QT file from the timeline but QT Pro seems to provide more encoding options. And... I need to be able to give clients an AVI file that they can convert into QT files themselves as needed... clients who do not have SpeedEdit.

QT will not load SpeedHQ avi files. NewTek would need to create a QT codec for that to work. But any avi codec you have installed on your system, you can render out to. Find out which one they use and get that codec to render too.
If a client needs multiple QT file types, or very specific ones, we usually give them a high quality H264 .mov file on a Data DVD or Thumb Drive.
They can manipulate it from there to suit their need.
For the few clients who can't handle the simple process of manipulating a QT file, we always ask to talk directly to the web guy or whoever will actually be working with the file. That saves a lot of guessing and re-doing the conversions. Usually the guy making the request doesn't have a clue and will guess you through the process! :D

Hi there,
There are also ways to setup things say through AE of other apps.
To auto render out multiple file formats...say you render a clip to a watch folder...then that app auto renders out several formats..that can then be put onto a disk or sent out to your client...or to an ftp site for your client to access...this can all be setup to automatically be done...without having to do anything by hand.

Hi Jose,
There are several ways to setup auto batch rendering of a file to multiple formats...using AE and a watch folder is just one way.

Hemm... I did not know that. I will try this next year via the network so that I can have SE and AE running without using the same machine for speed purposes.
Thanks for the tip,
