Hello:
I would like to convert/scale the VGA or DVI output of my computer (1280x800) into a 16x9 format. I want to record the resized computer output on my Tricaster Pro using the YUV input.

I have a Kramer scaler that will convert 1600x1200 into a standard 4:3 Y/C video format. Of course, when recording in the 16x9 format on the Tricaster Pro, any 4:3 video is stretched to fill the screen and I want to avoid the stretched look.

What scalers convert vga or dvi output into a true 16x9 output format in YUV? Thanks for any suggestions!

FYI: Until you purchase a new scaler, use a LiveSet to conform the screen back to 4:3 so it does not looked stretched.

Hello Jose:
I suppose Live Set could be used in a single camera setting, but I'm wanting to do a three camera production in real time. Two cameras would be in the 16:9 format and the computer output (third camera) needs to be also be in the 16:9 format. The scaler mentioned above may be the perfect solution! I'm going to get one and give it a try.

Thanks,
Froggy

Yes it will give you the 16:9 you are looking for. I was only saying until you purchase a new scaler, use a LiveSet. As for multiple cameras and LiveSets, you could have a LiveSet assigned to all the inputs if you want. A Aspect LiveSet can be assigned to all three camera inputs for scalers that produce the wrong aspect. There is no rule that says you can not use the same LiveSet on all the inputs :)
More of a FYI for future use or present use while you wait for the new scalers.
