Hi,

I'm about to take the plunge and order my studio equipment and Tricaster pro despite having zero experience! Might need a little help along the way!

I am going to be streaming live video 6pm to midnight, 7 days from a fixed location. We are going to implement dynamic streaming with three bit rates (128, 300, 600) and are building a flash player for this. We have found a streaming provider who can assist with this and our software guys are happy with the integration.

The problem is I have read that the Tricaster can struggle when trying to endcode more than one stream.

Does anyone have experience with this?

How easy is it to add a separate encoder into the setup to perform the encoding?

Could anybody recommend an encoder / hardware config for me to use?

Thanks!

Dan

128k+300k+600k will need a connection with a good upload capacity.

It's easy to add an external encoder to the mix, simply take the video/audio out of the Pro to your encoder. You could make your own machine for under $600, or buy a dedicated encoder for $3500: http://www.viewcast.com/products/niagara-2120 I think thats about 5 quid ;)
