Here is an independent video that does a good job of showing how TCXD300 works: http://vimeo.com/8254307

There are a few misunderstandings on the Aux audio outputs and recording, but otherwise not bad.

At least you won't think it's just us raving about it. You know we love it ;)

This is a great preview of the XD300. There are many other details to cover but it gives a great intro.

Do to all the clients having "emergencies" before Christmas, and the Birth of our first Grandson I've had to watch this video a few minutes at a time. :(

But every time I watch a few minutes I am floored with what they are demonstrating.
The XD300 is absolutely, positively fricking AMAZING! Everything is "virtually" flexible.
I gotta give NewTek big KUDO's for putting so much into this box. I'd write down all the stuff that I'm impressed with, but I think I gotta get back and watch more of the video. Or maybe a little sleep. :)

Also, Thanks MMG for giving us such a great preview of the XD300. Nice job! I'll be adding the XD300 to our arsenal VERY SOON!

Don't overlook the demo video on this page, for a different take on things:

Thanks Stevo. One more thing on my list of to do's! :D
But since my In-Laws come in today, I'll have a reason to disappear! :hey:
Just kidding honey, really. I actually love my in-laws.

I'll watch it very soon Steve. Promise.

Does anyone know what happened to Newtek's demo video from the unveiling of the TCXD300? I thought it was on the product page (as Steve mentioned above), but it's gone and I can't find it anywhere on Newtek's site.

The thing that caught my eye and bothered me the most about the demo is that the guy's right hand kept disappearing.

That completely blew the virtual reality for me.
After that I could not stay focused on what the guy was saying. Just wondering when the his hand would disappear again.

That completely blew the virtual reality for me.Yeah, a bit unfortunate alright ... pretty easily resolved though, just a tweak of the practical layout.

That completely blew the virtual reality for me.

What you have to remember is these guys were not intending to make an "XD300 Promo Video".
As they stated, they just opened the box and wanted to show off some of the new features.

I agree it would have been best to make it perfect, but at that time I was thrilled they gave us the demo. I thought it was done well for an ad-lib presentation. Other than the hand thingy. :hey:

I'll keep my hand in frame for today's XD300 production we are doing. :D

Hey Ted,

Are you keying live....or will you be posting stuff too?

I'ld like to know how the keyer works with the recored high profile mpeg2 that the XD300 records.

Thanks ;)

Sorry for the late reply.
We were pleased with the quality.
We recorded the live set in the HD-HQ MPEG format. We then took the video into post on our VT5.
While we got less real time performance than SD TriCaster files, (expected), we were able to drop some animated .avi GFX over the top.
