Ok..? Now.. it seems almost funny.. but serious though.. what does a shipment of 1100 units affect deliveries?

I mean.. weren't there about 100 000 G5's ordered? now it suddenly seems like the special order of about 1100 pieces blocks the entire road.. very unlikely..

there are more companys that get them sooner.. that's my guess.. (schools, virginia tech, pixar maybe?)

on the other hand I do not have any clue about production.. I don't know how many Macs can be produced every day..

I had read somewhere that educational and other orders would get priority..start of the school year and other reasons were cited.

Yet, I can't imagine that the order of 1100 would be the bottleneck, either.

I'll tell you why schools get them first: marketing. That's always been Apple's modus operandi, get the machines into schools and hope they buy one for themselves when they graduate.

Yep, and that's why Dell and Microsoft have been cutting deals left and right to take over the educational market (and succeeding, to a great extent).
