Although we can load up to four background images quickly for modeller viewports, there's no fast way to remove them... ;) How about a "clear all backdrops" option, or the ability to save a "Clear.cfg" with no backdrops?

Set up hotkeys for your viewports. An easy way to get rid of a background viewport without opening any panel, after you've set hotkeys for your viewports, is to switch to a single viewport, then back to your default Quad display. It could be considered a bug.. dunno, but it works.

Even though you can't 'save' a clear.cfg per se within Modeler, you can edit a backdrop cfg that's been previously saved or create a blank config with just the following:
{ ViewportBackdrop
0
}
{ ViewportBackdrop
1
}
etc..
Then just load it as a backdrop preset. Funny you can't save an empty cfg but you can create one from scratch. :D

Ah....! I just tried your .cfg editing trick bakasaru, and it works like a charm! Thanks so much for suggesting it -- that's a real time-saver! :D
Cheers
