I can see the option in the pulldown menu to set the Partigon Emitter/Collision object to "object", but I can't select it...only box, plane, or sphere.

Are you trying to set it on one of pFX's custom objects or on a actual mesh? It would probably only work on a real object, so load up a LWO object, enter Object properties panel and under Add Custom Object pick FX_Collision.

evenflcw is correct.. also if the object is a NURBS model, you have to tell it that too...

I really feel I have to mention this. I detest when people write NURBS instead of subD/subpatch/(metaNurbs). It is plain wrong and only creates misunderstanding and I wish you'd all just quit it. :) LW doesn't have NURBS! Please, I don't aim to upset, just decrease misconceptions.
