the n00b needs help!!!

im so confused, how do i make cool 3d pictures??!?!?!
i dont wanna waste my money after i paid so much. I got recomandations from alot of people who sed it was easy to us ebut now im just making myself feel stupid... lets say i wanted an image of a red one. What do i do?
