Controling playhead in layout?

Does anyone know how to get the play head on the frame slider in layout to stop playing (repeating) after it gets to the end?

I am trying to isolate 5 frames of an animation and it goes by so fast (and then repeats) that you can't get a handle on what is happening

use the make preview function. The playback controls there allow you to play once...
