has anyone invented something like point clone plus..... only working with polygons instead of points? so that the \orientation of each clone can be tied to the surface normal of the polygon... or anything like this.
im doing a LOT of foliage and mas detail natural forms, and am finding that while ruffing out the form of the objects iis easy and quick, the time is going into carefully having to conform all the cloned details to the surface orientation of the overall form, i cant imagine that no one has cooked up something to deal with this?
please let me know if youve heard of anything or have an effective workaround.
cheers
G

Try this: http://www.kolumbus.fi/erkki.halkka/modpak/index.html
What you want is "Q-polyclone"

Give a try, I'm pretty sure it will work because the last release date is May 08 besides it's an Lscript. Try it.

The site shows selecting the last poly in the same layer before starting the plugin but I find you can put the item to be cloned in a background layer and in the foreground layer select the polys to be attached to and then run the plugin. Good luck.
