Fast Fresnel Crash [Archive] - NewTek Discussions

In LW 8.5, when in Layout and "Surface Editor>shader>fast fresnel " is selected my computer crashes. Anyone have an idea WHY? I'm using Windows Vista - jim

generally its stable ,the only thing I can think of if you are using nodes and its causing it to become volitile ,sorry dude !

No nodes in 8.5, so that can't be the issue. :)

Generally I use gradients to control the fresnel effect.

Thanks Guys...
I guess I'll have to re-install LW 8.3 and then upgrade to 8.5, which I am using now. Having problems doing that! The 'Sentinal Protection 7.x' won't install and tells me the installation of LW8.3 will not happen. This is begining to be a catch-22 situation!!! Please, I NEED HELP DEPERATELY!!!
