I'm a little confused about how this is supposed to be set up. I've followed the instructions at http://software.primefocusworld.com/software/support/deadline/lightwave.php and the scene gets submitted without issue. The problem is that I've yet to find out how to configure the path to the ScreamerNet executable - submitting either from the Monitor or Layout presents no option to define the path. The machines involved are Macs.

Unsurprisingly, then, the slave just reports an error that it cannot find the LightWave executable. Has anyone else got experience with setting up Deadline in combination with LightWave?

It's been a while, but there's an option somewhere in the deadline window itself to set the executable path for all 3d renderers. Have a look there.

Hmm. I found paths stored in the Lightwave.params file, and adjusted those. Still no dice. I'm also surprised that Deadline is rejecting the (very simple) superuser password so I cannot access the config dialogs from the Monitor application. I've pinged the developer to find out how to reset the superuser password and hope that they might be able to explain what's going on.

One superuser password reset step later and I'm closer to persuading it to work. There is now a stumbling block in that Deadline makes a copy of the scene file in /var/folder/DB/(blah) and this appears to be inaccessible to the ScreamerNet executable. That scene file can be read in Layout and TextEdit and so on, but ScreamerNet itself just throws a fit and starts chucking out frames in 0.7 seconds.

Annoying; hopefully the Prime Focus software guys can make Deadline load scenes from the repository instead of such a potentially problematic place.
