sweet! looks like a good candidate for conversion to flash. maybe do one of those roundtable/model spins. I would consider using edges on the laces to allow each lace to stand out more, and maybe even the upper part of the shoe where there is obviously 2 different surfaces but it's not "real" noticable.

GruvSyco, I agree that edges would look better on the laces. I did try this, but edges didn't come out too well for some reason - I think because there are quite a few boolean objects in the shoe.
By the way, does anyone have a good way of conforming one object along the surface of another? I tried the background conform tool but couldn't get it to work as I wanted. My solution was booleans but this took a lot of time and tidying up afterwards. Also I would have preferred to keep the shoe as a subpatch obejct.

Search for the thread on mixing subp with other surfaces... it is in a thread here called "sony video cam" by Carm3D I think...
