Can someone tell me if the Tricaster FLV files are suppose to contain Meta Data? We need our files to contain both the videocodecid and audiocodecid tags and for some reason files created with the Tricaster don't contain any tags. Is this normal or am I missing something.

As far as I know, the included FLV codecs are pretty much plain vanilla. You can load up your own stream profiles with whatever settings you need. Just save them in the c:tricaster/user profiles/default profiles/flash/ntsc ( or pal )/4X3 ( or 16X9 ) directory, and they'll show up in the TriCaster stream profile list.

Thanks for the response Bob. I have added basic meta data using my own profiles and yet they do not appear in the resulting FLV file. The bigger issue is that the audiocodecid and videocodecid are inserted automatically (or are suppose to be) based on the codec selected when creating the profile - this is not happening.
Thanks

I was playing a little to see if I could make it work but it seems TC is not passing this information or better put, it is not using that portion of the profile/xml file.
NewTek would need to add the meta data fields in TC or somehow pass whatever we would manually type into the profile.
Sidebar: I don't redo the profiles in FME, I just edit the existing ones by following the fields and adding the text were it should go.
Anyway, I would hope NewTek can tell us how to pass the meta data on or at the minimum confirm that it does not pass meta data right now.
In the mean time, this seems to do the job but I have not tested it yet;

Download the program and the GUI program.
Mike,
If this works, could you post back the results so that Bob, I and others can use it when we need the meta data?
Take care,

Thanks Jose. Always impressed with the knowledge of people on this forum.
I have been using an app called RICHFLV (http://richapps.de/?p=48) which works very well. It can also be downloaded from the Adobe.com website, however the link was down due to site maint. at the time of this post.
Thanks
Mike
