What bitrate can I send to uStream?

Do they do a variable bitrate for users that connect?

Has anyone used their archive files? What quality are they?

There are 4 custom designed UStream flash format profiles ( 2 4X3, and 2 16X9) included with the TriCaster. Set for the higher bit-rate and try streaming.. if the stream fails, try the lower bandwidth.

As far as I know, UStream doesn't support multi-bitrate, but aside from that, the TriCaster doesn't either. If I'm streaming multiple bit-rates, I use seperate encoder computers.

UStream archives pretty much what you see during the broadcast. I usually don't archive live. I save the full res video during the stream, then edit it to clean things up, or add titles or whatever, Then I'll stream the "cleaned up" version and save that archive.
