Here's a new work that I started a little while ago. It's my slightly modified office. I have a couple of issues with lighting, mainly the sun from outside. It hits the edge of the trolly quite hard, but I'm not too sure what to do about it. If I use a shadow mapped spotlight, then I get light peakiing in on the corners of the room.

I'm not too sure how detailed that I should get concerning cords and such, but let me know, and I'll try to please.

So here it is...

Helpful hints are always great! BTW this is going to stretch over a week or so.

1. It seems a little dark, the lighting isn't directed at the desk top where it is needed. Maybe a lamp or two could compensate.
2. Some misc. paper or books would add to it.
3. Maybe more window, is this your basement?
4. Glass in the window.
5. Some colorfull items, a painting...
6. The chairs don't look very comfy
7. The floor is a little off, it looks plasticy

Just some first thoughts
Have fun

Well if you actually see my office... what a freakin mess!!! envelopes, printers, magazines and other loads of CRAP!

Just to let you know... I did just start this. I like it when I start on something and get some feedback. It's a real inspiration to hear what others think from the get go.

I'm working on it. Lots of stuff to do... scan model. I have to model my HP LaserJet 1200, Epson 3000, phone, Scanner, Speakers, and all that other jazz...

Lots of work. I don't know why I don't choose to do easy stuff.

BTW. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration!!!!

Hello Arlen,

Thanks for the mail.

I read the other guys` comments before I looked at the jpeg, so I was expecting some kind of Stalinist Russian hole under the stairs. All I can say is Man, you`ve got it lucky! That room is pure luxury!!! I`m jealous :)

So, what to say? Too early yet really to dive in with `Why haven`t you done this?` comments I think. I suppose you will be considering the lighting effect on the visible part of the room caused by the walls and things behind the camera, even if you`re not going to build them for real.

Then...are the walls papered, or painted, or bare boards? This isn`t a texxturing question, but a modelling one! If they`re papered, the corners will have visible bevels where the paper doesn`t quite reach into the corner. I`m about four metres away from just such a corner right now and I can clearly see the light bouncing off it.

Well, that`s all for now. I`ll check back later in the week.
Cheers
