Are there any problems running VT5 on a Windows XP 64 bit system? Are any special settings necessary?

I have built several VT[5] systems running on VISTA 64-bit without any problems (just remember to turn off the User Control Account so that the VT driver can install).

I run VT5 on XP 64-bit and have no problems...

VT5 works fine on 64bit windows however it seems many of customers use third party video codecs and applications that do not function on 64bit windows so your mileage with 64bit windows may vary.

I know the question was XP64 but I just wanted to say I have been using Windows 7 64 with VT5.2 with no issues. I do livestreaming via Flash Media Encoder 3 (free download from Adobe) and NOT the internal livestream panel. Works great.

No..they are not 64 bit drivers..but the 32 bit SD driver works fine in Windows 7 64.

i
I had no issues installing 5.2 in Windows 7. Adobe Flash Encoder shows the source while VT5 is running. VT video driver and VT audio driver.

That's incorrect, a 64bit OS Requires 64bit device drivers. VT5 has a 64bit driver but has not been tested on Windows 7.

I tried it a while back, with the W7 beta. It failed. (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93548) There hasn't been an update since, and I haven't tried it since.

Since the OS is coming out in two days, it'd be great if someone had some time to poke into this.

Maybe I am misunderstanding. I just did a live webcast this past weekend using vt 5.2d on my Windows 7 64 bit system. It worked perfectly. My Windows 7 64bit build is build 7600.

oh i think i understand now. When I installed vt 5.2d on my windows 7 64 bit system, it installed the 64bit Newtek SD driver that was designed for 64 bit Vista. Anywyas it is working for me.

I'll have to try it again.

If I install Windows 7 64 bit, can it start up in either 64 or 32 bit mode?

No. Windows 64 bit and Windows 32 bit are separate operating systems but MOST 32 bit applications can run under Windows 64 bit in "32 bit compatibility mode" which it installs In the Program Files (x86) folder.

I tried installing it on Win7 RTM, and the installer failed when trying to install some of the peripheral components such as the VC++ runtime and some other stuff. Net result was that on reboot, explorer shell crashed on login and was irrecoverable. Never did get as far as the VT5 software.
