Hi All!!

I used to have a VT4 running until the day the computer did't start anymore. That day was yesterday
I desperately need to convert my RTV files (from a backup HD) into uncompressed AVI. So I could finish my work on another computer.

I need to connect the backup disk into a PC or MAC and be able to convert RTV files into another computerīs readable format, preferebly uncompressed.

Do you know how can I do this? I`ve found in the forum something about Tmpgenc, but I didīt quite understand how to add RTV support to it.

Any hints are welcome!

Thanks

Francisco

Do you have a copy of SpeedEdit standalone? SpeedEdit reads rtv files.

Mirage, Aura, or TV Paint should also be able to do the conversion.

TMPGEnc 2.5 ( http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/download.html )with VFAPI and a utility call converter ( http://www.yks.ne.jp/~hori/data/VFAPICodecV105.zip or http://files.divx-digest.com/download/b1c7c8ea38261abb8bb74f30bb4e1a58/ZOMyZN2Q/codec/VFAPICodecV105en.zip ), old RTV.vfp (hard to find now) can wrap RTV into AVI file and you can use and AVI handling program to convert it anything you want.

You can also reference http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?p=898825 .

I have kill my rtv.vfp file one year ago. But I think there should be some VT users still have it.

The procedures to use TMPGenc, VFAPI, rtv.vfp and converter can still be found at http://www.planetxot.com/iframe_tutorial_rtvvfapi.htm
However, the download links over there are not working anymore.

That is correct, SpeedEdit does not require VT hardware. SpedEditVT is bundled tied to VT hardware, but the stand-alone off-the-shelf SpeedEdit doesn't need it.

It will read the RTV files. I have had mixed results with bringing in VT[4] VT-Edit projects into SpeedEdit - some worked fine, some had trouble.
