View Full Version : Multiple cameras in single rendered shot possible? (stereo3D anaglyph)

I'm trying to interactively track stereo3D in my scenes. Preferably by Fprime but since it needs something similar to the CCTV shader I guess this is not possible?

Is there any way to get multiple camera rendered in a single shot with nodes? Perhaps evading CCTV that way?

Hello Hieron...there was a free plug release awhile back that would allow you to preview left/right cameras in real-time using F-Prime; unforunately, it does not combine the images, but displays them side by side:

http://colm.jp/plug/stereo.html

Also, be sure that you set the camera width in camera properties to twice what you had in mind; so for example, if you are rendering 640x360, adjust the width to 1280, which result in a perfect side by view of your left and right cameras simultaneously inside F-Prime.

Unfortunately, there is no way to review the overlapping composition directly inside Lightwave at this time. The best thing to do is use Lightwave's built in Stereoscopic option (works with Classic Camera only), then load the resulting image pairs (or image sequence pairs) into a free program called STEREOSCOPIC PLAYER:

It will allow you to set the playback type for whatever your viewing situation is. If all you have is standard computer monitor, then grab some red-blue cheapo glasses, select red-blue anaglyph from the playback menu and watch your clips. But the Stereoscopic Player will also allow you to use any variety of options, including checkerboard format (same as REALD theatrical projection) and many more.

As things keep moving toward 3D on big and little screens, I think we'll see more ready-made solutions popping up. For Maya and Max, there are already some incredible (quality and price) plugins that allow for real-time preview of your work, plus visually interactive depth-plane adjustments, convergence points, etc...

Good luck and have fun!

Hey, thanks about the link for that plugin!
I'm not using 32 bit LW usually but will check it out..

Sad to hear it can't be done though.. Maya has a whole range of options built in. Ah well, I'll live without it then.. maybe one day.. *dreams*

The Stereoplayer I'm well aware of.. :) Use it all the time, commercially too.

Thanks though, even if it is bad news..
