As far as I know they were still working on that.. We use an mjpeg codec to inport and export video to other machines with compositing apps.
Danner, tkx for the reply... we need to work without loosing quality.
mjpeg work without compresion?
or
If i write *.avi files without compresion... how i can play its in real time?

we use Morgan Mjpeg codec here, and it plays video-size clips in realtime on all of our machines, even on the old 600mhz one, It uses disk speed more than processor speed. The quality is variable, at 100% it's about 9mb per second, but we usually settle at 90 quality wich is about 6mbps I think, wich would be similar to DV quality, but the compression is different, I can capture directly to that codec in T3 , in any quality setting, clips made in other machines or in T2 work great. Yes you could render out uncompressed avis and that would work too, but they will not play in real time on other machines.

You should check out Bob Tasa's stuff over at www.toastergarage.com if I get that url right.
He's got some pretty cool stuff for what you want.
The AE plugins are not longer posted for sale but they do
work outside of the toaster and they do not
require a toaster at all. If you are intrested email me
bobt@toastergarage.com
