Lightwave to After Effects 6

Hi, I am having trouble importing image files from Lightwave 7.5 into After Effects 6 in .rla mode. The solid images appear as a bunch of pixelated dots not solids. I think I saw a post and a solution about this before but couldn't find my print-out. Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know about AE 6, but when I use .rla files with 5.5, I always use the Extended RLA Export image filter in LW. Then I just import as an RLA/RPF sequence, and apply whatever filters I need. Works great.

Also the images must be 8 bits-per-channel. I think there's an incompatibility problem when the images are 16bpc.
