What's the best way to compress about 6 minutes of video to play back using Windows Media?

I have the VideoToaster 2 set up.

You can goto "Render Project", under "File" and then change the codec to "Windows Media", and then hit the "c" button for codec tweeking.

For better quality and file size render your project as an, Uncompressed AVI. Then goto Windows Media Encoder and encode from there. It will usually look better and using Windows Media 9, looks best.

Faraz:

How backward compatable is WM 9? We currently keep one machine with WM 7 to encode on. When clients and their customers had WM 8, they only got audio and a blank screen when we upgraded to encode WM 8.

To explain, we make self-booting discs with an HTML page and icon to start a Windows Media Player file. It's fast and cheap for approval discs or for clients looking for something that consumers already have on their machine (Internet Explorer/Media Player) and no downloads or instatllations are required.

Thanks,
Dave.
