Hello

Lightwave is losing all my settings everytime I restart my computer. I thought it had something to do with the anti-virus scanning, but I stopped the scanning and it is still doing it. I recently renamed my config folders, according to a document I can't seem to find right now. but I think that was doing it before. I am getting tired of having to go into menu layout and reload f-prime and other plugins I use everyday when I get to work ,and would like to customize furthur. also , LW cad seems to completely uninstall, and I have to reinstall it. something really weird is going on. Thanks for any ideas.

(the good news is that lightwave seems to crash a lot less after I did that config thing)

I reckon you have a typo in your Properties window. As an example, mine is:

D:\NewTek\LightWave9.6\Programs\lightwav.exe -cD:\NewTek\LightWave9.6\config

If you have your LightWave in the more traditional Program Files folder it should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files\LightWave 9.6\Programs\lightwav.exe" -c"C:\Program Files\LightWave 9.6\config"

Note the quotes surrounding the path with the spaces in it.

thanks. I never thought much of it until now, but I somehow got two programs when I go into the start menu, one that says Lightwave 3D and one that says Lightwave 3D 9.6. I had always used the one that says 9.6, but my installation path in program files says Lightwave 3D 9. when I use the lightwave 3D exe it has all my plugins. they are both 9.6. I don't know? really confusing.. I guess I'll just use the exe that saves my configs and see what happens.
