Simple Galaxy

Hi there...just a galaxy, but I thought I'd post it. Mars is nearest it's been for 50,000+ years - go outside and check it out :)

You should try to lose the streaks/lines a bit, especially in the middle of the galaxy...

Thanks Rich. Trentonia. I started with points to polys and the imitate_galaxy plugin, experimented with hypervoxels. Most of the effect is a 2D disc with procedural texture maps, and the poly points provide some detail and color. I switched off the HV, so no voxels at all :)

Maybe a bit more fall-off towards the edges (although it looks gorgeous), and maybe tiny, tiny bit more color variation... Something other than blue/purple, in some spots...
