I found the information to this question in a thread a while back, but when I went to look it up, I couldn't find it again. So if I am rendering a pass of a glowing object as a png32, how do I get the glow's alpha to show up in after effects?
(I know it's something simple... I just know it! :bangwall:)
I don't know, but generally glows should be additive in your comp, and not cover up what's behind them. You should be able to do the glow in AE instead of in the 3d too, that would save render time and give you a lot more control.

Try Flare2Alpha under Image Filters.

Right, Flare2Alpha will make things like lens flares, glow, and volumetric lights or sprites with 0 opacity show up in the alpha.

Thanks for all the replies. I will be going with toby's suggestion of rendering it without a glow, then fixing it up in AE, since he's right about having more direct control over it.
Now that you mention it, Sekhar and Mr.Rid, that Image filter did look familiar. I knew it was something simple like just a click of a button. Thanks again.
