[1] Power Mac G5 Now Shipping

Apple has begun shipping the two single processor models of its
Power Mac G5. The dual 2.0 GHz Power Mac G5 will ship late this
month. Apple also announced that it has received orders for over
100,000 Power Mac G5s.


this is from the apple developers weekly newsheet ADC News so we'll have to hold our breath just a little longer for those dual babies. 100,000 ordered I'd say thats quite a lot.

Did you get yours, Munky?

The single CPU ones may be better value for money. A lot of Lightwave plug-ins aren't multithreaded for dual processing anyway.

No not yet as I'd only get the dual G5 and I thought I'd wait for others to lab rat it for me before I dove in with the cash. I was also waiting to checkout who would supply the best 8gig of ram (while I can afford to pay apple prices I'd rather not as I just bought a new surfboard and the saving is also a trip snowboarding for xmas) so for the moment I'm keeping my pants and my powder dry letting others blaze the trail.
