Try a progressive project size. Does the 180 frames ALL play? You could try this, set the Prefs to 1 frame for pics, then highlite the first, hold shift and select the last, then drag to timeline. You may have set something in LW to cause this. I use the HQ 4224 codec in LW to make an .avi at times, then turn on overlay in SE. When rendering .tga32's, 0 should be the first frame rendered. You can also put these in a folder, then drag the folder to the timeline.

180 frames is 180 frames regardless of interlace on or off. You somehow loaded the frames with SE using a still image length in preferences. This settings is designed to allow a single frame to be used in a video edit.
Anyway, SE works perfectly with Targa images and all you need to do is hold down the ALT key and select the first frame of the sequence and drag that image into the Story Board/Time Line. SE will automatically create the proper playback to match the project settings. So if you have 60 frames and the project is 29.97 frames (interlace or progressive does not matter) you will get the 2 sec. animation. If your project is 24 frames per sec., then the same 60 frame image sequence will be 2.12 (2 sec, 12 frames) or 2.5 sec.'s in length since 12 frames is half a sec. at 24 frames per sec.

Interlace should be used to handle motion in an animation but it has zero barring on frame rate. You could substitute interlace with motion blur for a smoother more universal production value (video/film/web).

Take care,
